What makes a great Christmas campaign?

Children up and down the country have started intensive searches across bedroom borders and out of reach places in a bid to find their Christmas presents. Christmas, as they say, is just around the corner. This got us thinking; what makes a successful Christmas broadcast campaign?

It’s clear that Christmas is the ideal opportunity for brands to use broadcast to engage with a wider audience who are naturally predisposed to respond to the media around this time. It’s the time for brands to create innovative and engaging conversations with consumers that will position them firmly at the front of consumers’ hearts and minds; for Christmas and beyond.

Radio has always been a strong “call-to-action” medium, and this is even more true in a world where consumers access brands via the internet. Recent IAB/RAB joint research revealed that at any given time a fifth of internet surfers are listening to radio – so they are a click away from interacting with a brand. In the flurry of online purchase in the lead up to Christmas, there is no better time to engage your audience with an exciting broadcast campaign.  To truly engage with an audience at Christmas you need to engage with the spirit of Christmas. It has to embody an element of tradition whilst simultaneously bringing something new to the table. It needs mass appeal but there has to be a point to it; a successful Christmas campaign will give advice and offer guidance that improves the consumer’s own Christmas.
